I just bought a Glock 22 Gen 4 and took it shooting for the first time. To my surprise, it wasn't cycling properly, and usually wouldn't eject the brass. I thought the problem was my loads, even though they worked perfectly in another G22. I then thought about the new double recoil spring, and wondered if it needed hotter loads to cycle.

Then, I was made aware of the Glock Recoil Spring Exchange program. I don't know if the problem was the spring or not, but this would be quite a coincidence if it wasn't.

Anyway, here's a link to the program at Glock, with instructions on how to get your free RSA replacement:

That's interesting.....I traded in my Glock 22, 2nd Gen for a 4th Gen last year and I haven't had any problems with my reloads, and I reload on the mild side....

The thing is, I don't know what the symptoms of the RSA problem are - I'm just hoping this cures my issue. The call centre person I spoke with wasn't too knowledgeable, so I'm "shootin' in the dark" here.

I have two Gen 4's. Too date neither has had any issue, but that being said, if Glock has recognized an issue and is sending out replacements at no charge, who am I to argue. I called and 2 new recoil spring assemblies are "on their way". Until then I will continue to shoot the living daylights out of my Glocks.

Apparently there's an article in American Handgunner that talks about this issue, but looking on their website, I wasn't able to find it.

Well, it is a free recoil spring so, who am I to argue with anything free?...:)...I guess I'll call Glock next week....

Just shot 300 rounds out of my new G17 Gen 4, it had the 02 spring installed. Worked flawlessly, not FTF, FTE or anything. So far so good.

I called 2wks ago today. It was waiting for me when I got home today.....no return envelope or instructions to return the "old" spring, which by the way looks identical to the new one, so.......?????

edit. return stickers and instructions were in the envelope afterall
