Hi all,

I had no intention of buying a Glock but, when some came up at Prophet River, I felt a sense of FOMO and quickly snagged a Glock 41. No real idea about it when I bought but did not want to possibly regret not having one for the range in case I somehow became a Glock fan down the road. Any thoughts on this particular Glock model as compared to the more usual 9mm Glocks? It has the extended slide but same width as a regular Glock. Any thoughts and experience appreciated. Thanks!

I more or less did the same thing and picked up the 21 gen 4. From what I know its the thick frame glock, its about 1/4 inch thicker than a glock 17. Also if you want to shoot 10mm you're in luck. If you get the 10mm mags, a gen 4 glock 40 barrel and 10mm extractor you now have a glock 40!

Wow, you have laid out the exact reason I bought a G21 gen 4.

Excited to try it out!

The only handgun I would ever buy in 45 ACP is a 1911.

Never mind. Buy a 9 mm as well,45 ACP will cost you an arm and a leg.

...The G41 also has a slimmer slide profile compared to the G21, closer to a G34.

HH is right on the money - The G41 is actually lighter than the G21. That longer, slimmer slide makes a huge difference in handling. The G21 is thick.

JC, you were lucky to make that purchase. If you're new to 45ACP and budget is a factor, I suggest you start reloading to help with the costs. 45ACP is the best autoloading cartridge to learn on.

I think the G41 was intended as one of the "race" format Glocks, like the G34 and G35. Lighter trigger pull, not sure if there's an extended slide stop as well. But they're also great target pistols if using iron sights, as the longer sight radius really helps.

Thanks for the insight alpining. Great to know about 45s and reloading as well. This is something I will be looking into based on your advice.

I dont have a 41 but I love shooting my G21 gen3 other then the already mentioned high price of .45 ACP ammo

The .45 compared to 9mm IMO is more of a push back recoil compared to the filp up of 9mm. I would assume the longer barrel on the 41 would shoot even flatter

.45ACP in a pistol is fun to shoot!

Stop encouraging me @alpining. I need the heat to die down at home with all the pistol purchases before I enter the PCC world.

Sorry bud!

You're not going to want to hear this, but... Think hard about it. Many people think that a ban on PCCs will be next.

G41 is great, grip is a chungus, I have a slr magwell, and it pinches the grip so *some* of the mags don’t drop freely (like 2 drop, 1 drops slow, and 3 mags have to be pulled out) apparently this isn’t a problem with the 10mm guns, perhaps the mags have different dimensions? Weird, I’ll bubba it with a file, other than that it’s great.
