Glock Generation Question

I got a G22 in 1991. My original G17 I bought in 1988 and traded for the G22.

Timeline....

G17 introduced 1983
2nd Gen frame introduced 1989
G22 introduced 1990

G22 is built on G17 frame

So is my G22 a 1st or 2nd generation gun?

Does it have a serrations on the front and back of the grip, and does it have a boarder around the texturing on the grip?

If it does, than it a Gen 2. Gen 1 is all smooth, no serrations or checkering.

Pretty sure there is no gen1 glock 22. Yours is certainly a gen 2

Well what does your frame look like? Gen 1 or Gen 2?

Based on what you said. I would say it is a Gen 2, and there was NO gen 1 Glock 22s.. Because the Glock 22, came out AFTER they made Gen 1, and built using Gen 2 frames.
