Hello
I bought my first handgun yesterday (Glock 17).I had a question for you guys,i noticed when i remove the slide from the frame and turn it over
the guide rod and spring are juuuust about out of that half circle notch.
I pushed it back down into the notch racked the slide a couple times and same thing happens. Is there anyway the guide rod and spring can seperate from the barrel when attached to the frame ? I Just want to confirm with you guys that this is normal. The Guys at Reliable tell me it is but i wouldn't mind a second opinion.
Any glockers have this same thing happen.

Thanx,Newbie Glock owner

The same thing happens on my Glock 17. It is normal and pushing the guide rod back down into the notch before you reassemble the slide is also a normal operation.

It's normal. Don't worry about it. I've got a Glock 22 .40 cal that has well over 25,000 rounds thru it without a hitch. ;)
