Hi Fellow Gun Nuts,

if I keep my Glock slide pulled back so I can store it with a cable lock, would this damage the gun in any way?
The reason I ask this is because it does not fit in the Glock case with a trigger lock on it.
I hope you can help me out.

Thanks:confused:

makes the spring wear out faster
you dont have to store it in the Glock box- your gun cabinet, with a regular trigger lock, and locked cabinet is legal

It's better not to keep the spring under tension for long periods, get a case from a gunstore and you might as well get one that fits two because you know you will get another.

If you are using a cable lock only lock the slide back when you are putting the lock on then gently release the slide forward until it is stopped by the cable lock.

No more spring pressure to wear out...

I use a trigger lock on my semi-auto's... :)

Thanks a million for the input.I will probably do the cable lock and then close the slide gently on to it.The Glock case does fit perfecly into my transport case and that's why I don't just buy another case. You are right though,I will be getting more so I will just have to buy another case anyway one day.
Thanks again.
Buck.

Also to keep in mind, it is legal to store your handgun with a trigger lock or cable lock provided you store it in a (omiting legal jargon) safe, gun room or what have you. During transport, you'll need your trigger lock or cable lock

Cable locks are awesome, get a bunch of keyed-the-same ones for 5-6 bucks a pop and also the 4 Gun case from Marstar for 20 bucks. I lug all 4 handguns around that way, along with the paperwork under the foam.
