Glock mag problem - new model

Just bought a new Glock 22. The "10 shot" magazine needs the thumb of Godzilla to push in the last round. This bulges the mag so much the mag won't go into the gun.

Dealer says they are all like that - take it up with Glock.

I want a mag to take 10 1/2 rounds so I can seat the last round and then install mag in a pistol with a round chambered and slide closed. The top round in the mag has to be able to move in a bit to that.

Can I open up the mag and clip a spring or somehow make some toom?
 
All 10 round Glock mags suck for loading - particularly the last few rounds. That being said, I can't see the magazine "bulging" to make it wide enough that it doesn't fit in the gun. I think you need to push harder, in all honesty.
 
My new Glock 10 rd mags are like that too...I have the mag loader, which helps, but other than that I have no advice. I will note that mine don't "bulge" when fully loaded though. Maybe leave them loaded for a week?

To clip the spring...use a punch or armourer's tool to poke through the hole in the floorplate (it has a tab in it, just push past it) and lever the floorplate off...personally I don't replace the tab when I reassemble my mags because they are a pain the a$$ and the floorplate stays on without them anyways.
 
When fully loaded they dont fit in my G19 . I can force it but then it makes the slide impossible to rack . I ve tried cutting the spring but not enough and the problem remains because they are a pain in the ass to dissasemble and i dont want to do it again . Since then i bought some 10/15 wich works fine but some people find that they dont come out as smooth . About that i ll have an opinion after this week end when i do my BB .
 
you can buy 10/17 pinned magazines for the 9mm, I think its the case for the glock 22 as well. takes a lot of pressure off the last round.
 
I have the same problem with my G22 4th Gen. When you load a fully loaded mag in the firearm, you have to really reaf the slide back to rack it because it pushes up against the slide!

Anyone know of a way to correct this?
 
My 21sf, was a bit of a bear when I got it, too. Just use it as much as you can, they'll loosen up. The glock loader should work fine, I know it's the only way I can fully load a couple of my mags.

Yes, leave the slide locked open between mags, it makes thinks a lot easier.

I know of a police service in canada that requires all officers to do this to their full capacity glock mags, I got a chance to fondle with one of their mags once, and I could barely get what should have been the second last round in.
 
Even normal-cap GLOCK mags can be like that. It's a ##### to get those 15th and 16th rounds in... and you can forget about the 17th all together until the mag's been properly broken in.
 
I don't see the issue, the mags are still but far from impossible to load by hand. I strongly doubt the mag is "bulging". Full steel liner with a polymer jacket prevents such bulging. If the mag is a dedicated 10 round mag(with witness holes marked to ten) the magazine is indeed a factory built 10 rounder, which means they're single stack. The interior walls of the mag have a rib that prevents the rounds from double stacking. This eliminates the need for a rivet or other round limiting device.

The mags are difficult to load to max capacity hence the inclusion of the mag loader with each new Glock. It's gets easier after the 1882748 round though.:p
