Glock problems

honestly it looks like it was re assebled without even engaging the front rails, and then fired in that condition..... and For the love of god the original poster has to be kidding asking for help lol, I think gatehouse has been here since the beginning?

No, that's not what happened. I explained in post #11 what happened.

It failed to lock back on magazines a couple of times. Then it slam fired so I figured there was some crap in the firing mechanism and it was needing a cleaning. It wasn't until it was reassembled it that I noticed the slide was sticking up from the frame when locked back. If the slide is forward, it looks normal. If you pull back the slide like you are racking a cartridge in it looks normal. It's not until the slide stop is engaged that there is a gap between the slide and frame. I had never seen something like this before, hence asking for help.

Glock was originally engineered for 9mm and therefore myself I decided to have G17 as the most reliable and durable gun as it was the first model line released. Perfection by design it is. G19 is ok still. And then Glock went on pleasing larger calibers fun clubs but that was at the cost of its reliability. I mean all these 40sw, 10mm, 45ACP etc. can run their number of thousands rounds but that will be still much less than 9mm would do. It is still a cheap plastic frame with molded bits of metal rails. Like you put V6 engine into Honda Civic and wonder why transmission, suspension, CV axels and other stressed parts go so fast.

I have a Glock 21 .45 ACP, do realize that everything is bigger to take the .45 round. Thats why they are considered Large Frame Glocks, compared to the 9mm that are small frame. The slide is even way thicker and heavier then a 9mm slide

Its not like the .45ACP or 10mm caliber Glocks are ran on a 9mm frame and slide......Your V8 in a Civic comparison is not valid in this senerio

He obviously did something wrong or had way too many rounds on his recoil spring assembly. He ripped his frame rails off and the polymer looks hammmerd at the back of the trigger housing and frame

That sucks man thats a garbage frame parts only gun now that you cant buy a new frame anymore with the handgun ban

I think the Poly 80 idea may be the only feasible solution. I wish this had happened a few weeks ago as I would have just bought another handgun if I could find one. And/or Glock might have warrantied it or done something to help out but I am going to assume they wouldn't be able to transfer me a new frame at this point.

Who does Glock warranty in Canada anyway? Despite having a number of Glocks I've never needed warranty work, just replaced small parts/springs etc.

This is yet another aspect of the handgun freeze that is going to start becoming more frequent as round counts build up in guns. Replacing parts is one thing but when frames start breaking or cracking we won't be able to replace them.
According to cabela's Big Rock Sports is the warranty centre, CustServ.Help@bigrocksports.com. I would say there is a difference between a "new" handgun and a repaired handgun, nothing to lose by trying.

I wonder if a guy could make some new rear rails and pin them in?

Maybe use some of the rails meant for the 3D printed frames?

I found that they make poly80 Glock 21's so maybe worth a try if I can find the rails here in Canada. It would take some creative work with a dremel or something and no guarantee that it works but it would be worth a shot.

It's so damn annoying that I have a bunch of handguns but can't even buy a new frame anymore.

maybe you do not look good enough ... 3d print is certainly your answer on the long run ...
