There seems to be a Glock 3.5. Well not really but, a model that appeared between the third and fourth gen issues, often called RTF--rough textured finish. These in between models are considerably cheaper and I am wondering if there are any issues, problems or concerns about them. I bought one, a G22 brand new for $608. and I see that Target sports are selling them for $575. Great price for a brand new Glock. My G22 has performed flawlessly and I can't tell any difference form my buddy's Gen 3.
Specifically, I would like to know if this in between model G17 has any problems, due to early complaints about the Gen 4 series. I am negotiating with someone who is selling a "3.5" G17 as he calls it. Says it has only 200 rounds through it, and I don't expect him to be forthcoming with any problems...it's the internet after all.

That's why they are discontinued in favor of the RTF on the Gen 4's. It's also personal preference. I don't care for the RTF2 textured grip on the Gen 3's but really like the RTF on the Gen 4's. Same with the fish gills on the side of the slide on the RTF2, some guys like the look while others don't.
