Alright, with the G21 SF getting a pic rail instead of the older type of rails, what type of rail will Glock offer in the future ? Seems that some G21 SF pistols have the older rail but based on what is happening almost across the pistol board, pic rails seem to be the standard. Any leads or thoughts as to whether Glock will ditch its older rail and stick to pic rails ?

Well, from the reading I've done (mostly US based) people prefer the old rail for more holster compatibility; now Glock has a 'G21SF-LE' which is the old style safety with the old style rail so it's just a short frame and that's it (ensuring maximum holster compatibility; it will also accept the old style mags).

I've got the first G21SF with Non-Ambi mag release in Canada coming my way next week - they are very hard to get right now (I am sure they'll catch up with demand eventually) :)

I don't think Glock will ditch the Glock-Rail, if anything it will be the picatinny rail that gets ditched.

Interesting....
To take it a step further, what do you guys think other mfg'ers will be doing with their rails ? Adopt the glock type rail or stick to the pic rail ?

Seems kind of silly that the main reason people prefer the old style glock rail to the pic rail is simply holster compatibility - an aspect that can easily be remedied if customers would be willing to wait for supply to again catch up to demand

there is no way any other manufacturer is going to use a Glock rail. and there is a likely chance that Glock will move more fully into using the Pic rail system on all their models. initially offering them with both, and then slowly cutting back on theirs.
