Glock slide won't hold open after last round.

How is knocking the slide stop with your thumb causing the slide to go forward? You can't close the slide with an empty magazine inserted unless the slide didn't fully recoil in the first place...

Some shooters have a tendency to anchor/index their thumb on the slide release. Added tension or technique sometime causes them to naturally pull down on the slide release hence after the last round, if their thumb is pulling down on the slide release, it does not engage the slide to keep it locked open.

More likely it's a problem with the slide release, particularly if it's the extended version. It's prone to this and I've had it happen on numerous occasions.

Fair enough. I've had it happen as well and it was mag issues. Just my experience.

Either way, the OP has a few options to look at now. Best of luck OP and let us know.

Shoot it with one hand and Check if the slide lock back......

It's almost everytime your thumb on the slide release. It can be weak spring form the mag or the wornout slide release. 99% of the time it's the user's thumb.

Not always the strong hand thumb, often the support hand thumb/meat of hand holding down the slide stop too. With a thumb forward grip if you aren't careful this happens a lot. Probably 50% of time when it's you doing it is either strong or weak hand doing it, and that accounts for, as mentioned above, at least 99% of the reasons why your slide doesn't lock back.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try shooting w one hand and see if the problem goes away.

The other point..is yes.. I was using the Korean KCI mags rather than the factory one...

I'll see if this is the factor too.

As for state of slide release.. notice some scratches there..so could be damaged?
