I currently own a glock 23 in 40 cal since the 90s and the front plastic bearing surfaces on the plastic frame that the rear part of the recoil spring rests on and impact the slide are starting to deform both on the right and left sides. As a matter of fact the right plastic lug has developed a crack in it and I fear that it will eventually shear off from the steady pounding.

I realize the 40 is a more powerful round and will wear the pistol a bit faster but this represents a breakage of a critical part of the frame that may end up breaking the entire plastic frame.

Has anyone experienced this problem and will Glock warranty cover this if I send it back? I really don't need to hear that I should have bought a steel frame pistol. I have pistols with steel frames and know they can be subject to frames cracking as well.

I've already send an email to Glock Warranty Canada and am awaiting a reply.

Why would they warranty something bought in the 90’s?

Maybe they could sell you one. But unless it’s already in the country you are now sol.
