What is the difference between the 2 ?

They’re both restricted. So no prohib. I know the Canadian version has the barrel sticking out slightly. Does that mean it’s a smaller slide ?

The standard Glock 19 is prohibited by barrel length so an after market barrel is required.

The Canadian version has a Canadian legal factory barrel and the maple leaf.

Slides are the exact same.

Standard Glock 19 is prohibited with a 4" barrel.

Glock 19 Canadian has slightly longer barrel to be Canada compliant.

There is also the Glock 19 with a 4.5" threaded barrel that is Canada compliant.

That's one ugly gun..

Silverfox, I agree!
How about a Glock 19x in Coyote?
I shot my buddy's and fits my hands like my G17 minus the awful finger grooves.
It has a G17 sized grip/frame(without the finger grooves) on a G19 slide , metal sights, lanyard loop and the barrel barely sticks out.
At ~$800 with 3 mags it's worth looking at......

Lots of sources in Canada for 1/2"x28 threaded barrels and lots of Comp options too if that floats your boat!

This was from SHOT last year and was one of the first G19X's I had seen - and later shot.

These are on my own guns, and are AWESOME!

Like most of the guys above have said G19's are legal in Canada as long as the barrel meets the requirements of Canadian Law - The "Canadian" Edition being the shortest restricted barrel a person can own, and the Gen 3 pictured with the factory Threaded Barrel and Suppressor Height sights being fairly common as well. Only thing to watch for on those is that is a more "european" thread pitch at 13.5x1 and is a bit harder to find Compensators for.

From what I've researched,
you can't find many Glock 19 Canada edition aftermarket barrels due to the 106 mm restriction, which would be my only negative.
This firearm seems like more of a Safe queen cause of the markings / Potential sprint run availability
The 19x or even the Gen 5's have more user appeal due to the ambi-ness and lack of grooves.

Just wondering is the glock 19 canadian version limited in numbers? Some places are out of stock and wondering if any new stock will arrive

The arrival of the new Gen5 models - including the 19x* - played a big factor in it; some consumers reported holding off on purchasing, apparently wanting the latest model (over the Gen3 and Gen4 versions). Importers, distributors, and retailers often find it difficult to predict how many of which models will sell (and which will linger), and they just can't afford to order stuff that might not sell. I expect that the forthcoming model 48 may also steal some sales from the 19.

Here are some which appear to be in stock (in Canada) now:

* N.B.: The 19x is NOT the same thing as a 19, a 19x is larger; a 19x has the slide of a 19 and the grip frame of a 17.

I was watching bullseye stock and before christmas they had 13 and shortly after new years all sold out.

I almost picked up the 19x..however store didnt have any stock

ive talked with the Canadian Glock rep via email and OEM Glock 19 Canadian complaint barrels are suppose to be available to buy here by spring 2019.
those would be the G19 Canadian barrels and the G19X Canadian barrels.
(2 different Gen of barrels as the 19X runs the Gen5)

Yes, a limited run of 2600 were made, no more..

Glock's new world compliant G48 will kick all those 19's to the curb. Quickly....

I highly doubt that. I'm eager to get my 48 but it won't unseat the 19 as the Goldilocks pistol.
