We have a GMV 274T thrower. When we try to throw doubles, the second bird is dropping down on top of the fence on the throwing arm. We know that we have some form of a timing issue but we haven't been able to determine the appropriate adjustment to remedy the situation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Brian

Have a copy of the manual. It is not very informative. The only Canadian dealer I know of is in Quebec and we are in Alberta.

Any help available directly from GMVSuperstar @ (312) 420-5539 ?

The gents at Shyda's have pretty much seen it all, and have been helpful in the past too ... (717) 274-8676.

If it is Superstar singles/doubles machine then you have the GMV model.

I could be wrong but I can't see how machine timing could be your problem. If that was the problem I would think that your front target (singles) would land on the throwing arm also

Does the machine work OK for singles?

Is the throwing arm bent so that it engages the back target early and forces the target to ride up over the arm? Check the throwing arm rubber rubber also.

Is the elevator is good shape e.g. not bent, misaligned and have the blue rubber material on the top portion - this keeps the target from slipping off as it comes down.

QRP are good folks to deal with.......

Spent some extra time working on the machine yesterday. It seems that the eccentric that drives the canister had slipped on the shift. This meant that the carousel was not indexing properly, ie it was late getting to the point where it drops the birds. This was allowing the arm to get to far along before the bird dropped. After adjusting this it seems to be working properly again.

The singles were still working before these adjustments.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Excellent. The Superstars are great machines but they can be a real PIA to fix. I believe they are over engineered. Next machines we purchase will more than likely be Pat Traps.
