I have used the gmx and am very impressed with the results. don't know what the bullet looks like as I haven't recovered one yet. lots of internal damage. I would use no heavier than a 150 gnr mono or 150 to 165 bonded bullet. I'm parcial to swift scirrocos but acubonds work as well as do partitions. black bears are not hard to kill. a good 165 hornady cup and core would work as well.
