Hey All

I have a new carbon-fibre barrel for my Rem 700 in .223 and I am looking for G/NG gauges to seat the barrel. I hesitate to buy as I will not need them again for ?

In the past, I have found a source that rents them but i cannot locate that resource again.

Any suggestions?

I do not have any GO or other gauges, except as bought "used" on the EE. Is almost a "sign" of a true "gun nut" - barrel tools, reloading components and reloading tools, rifles that you bought and have never got around to using - even once - but is all good stuff - for "one day" ...

It is better to have and not need than to need and not have! I would not want to add up the cost of what I have acquired while adhering to that principle.

Bought 223 Wylde gauges from TNA some time ago and I completely forgot that I own them until I saw this thread.

I wonder... would the 223 Wylde gauges effectively work the same as 223 Remington gauges ?

From what I gather (don't claim to be an expert), the 223 Wylde chamber is the bastardized-spawn of a 223 Remington chamber and a 5.56 Nato chamber?

In that they all should have the same headspace ..... the only difference between 223 Wylde, 223 Remington, and 5.56 is effectively in the throat & lead ?

In either case, I should really sell them on the EE as they surplus to my needs.
