Has anyone else had any experiences with the Go Pro Hero camera? I just borrowed my friends, head mounted it, and shot a round of skeet. The quality is very surprising, interesting watching from someone else's point of view. The video is currently in the editing stages and will be posted up after it has been completed.

:)How about clipping out a few spectacular shots and breaks to show us how the equipment works? A full round or 20 minutes of skeet on tape would put me to sleep. I have a tough enough time hanging in for a full round of the great Todd Bender.:)

I cut it down to just me shooting. I did notice though that unless you are viewing it in full screen, it is really difficult to see some of the breaks. Only part I did not clip out was me walking up to station 1. It is currently uploading to Youtube. I will post the link when it is done.

If you put it up to youtube in high def, they will leave it high def. What program are you using to edit? Are you using the proper settings to render your film? Not all Hi-Defs are the same. What file format is it in? All of these things matter, your camera is fine for catching that detail, though if you were to go on an overcast day you would really see them dust. Its a much more equal lighting source rather the sun either behind or in front of your subject.

24/25 is nice shooting in my books. I don't like to miss any but the days I shoot 24s I am usually happy with my shooting. As far as picking up your breaks in any detail? Not so good. At least on my screens. I think a qualified instructor would be able to tell you a bit about your shooting by viewing your hold points and watching the muzzle after your call. Too bad the flight of the target is not more visable. If it was a think that this would be a great training tool.

As far as seeing those spectacular or not so spectacular breaks I think one has to hold the camera steady near the anticipated break point. My wife did a few for me with a cheapie Power Shot which I think was no where near HD. High 8 and Low 8 and Station 7 are fairly easy to capture the shooter and his breaks together.

Keep experimenting. I think this may be a great training tool.

You can see everything a lot better in full HD, surprisingly, the set up was not uncomfortable. My friend is re editing it currently, and hopefully I will get a better version up soon.

Very nice video and good shooting!!:) I purchased a set of I-Kam extreme video sunglasses to replace my Oregon Scientific Helmet Cam. The picture quality is better but you don't get the down the barrel view like they show on their website. As a right handed shooter the camera being in the nosebridge of the glasses looks to the right when your head is on the stock. It is good if birds are going left to right but birds moving right to left fold up unseen. Here is what I have after my first attempt with the camera last fall. I will have to do some tweeking but I am sure I can figure something out to get a good honest down the barrel view. Not trying to hijack your thread!!

Oh man does that ever look like fun! That was the issue I thought of prior to filming, since I shoot right handed as well, people assumed the camera would be parallel with the barrel of the gun. Unfortunately when you place your cheek against the comb, your view is slightly past the barrel but your eyes compensate. What I did to counter act this was not have the camera facing directly forward but a bit to the left. When your cheek is planted to the right it still looks parallel down the barrel.

spank,
That sure looked like fun! During the couple of volleys I could hear my heart quicken! What a way to capture the excitement! How much different is this equipment to the eye cam that the hot shots like Bender and McGuire use in their instructional videos? Can you post a link to your equipment?

Thanks for putting that together, well done. What type of harness did you have the camera mounted on? Those go pros can do some amazing things!
