Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice especially from those of you who have done this conversion. I ordered my Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel for my Glock 22. I've been reading in different places online and cannot find agreement. There are those who say that you need to get Glock 9mm mags to use with the 9mm ammo and barrel. Then there are those who say that they used their G22 40 cal mags with the 9mm ammo with no problems of feeding etc.

What do you say? Should I get some 9mm mags or can I make do with my 40 cal mags? I have 5 40 cal mags so I suppose I can just try and trade a few for some 9mm. Would love to hear from those of you who have done it.

Thanks

In my experience (tried a few different mags) they puke after 5-8 rounds.

I would just source 9mm mags.

(I think some of the people who say it works are in fact, bending the mag lips- also known as making a prohibited device.)

My experience was the same. Just buy some 9mm mags.

I have a conversion barrel and use 9mm mags, never tried the .40 mags but when I loaded them up with 9mm the ammo was sitting too high.

I have a Glock 23 I find the same thing IM Luger said. The mags work fine in slow fire.
Bur once you start going into faster shooting I would get a very rare double feed.Never
have feeding issue with the 40.

I also have experienced unreliability with using 40SW mags for 9mm. They load up okay but once under tension they have a tendency to puke out rounds as mentioned earlier.
You may experience another situation with your LW conversion barrel. Altho a drop in part, in some cases the LW barrels have a tighter chamber than OEM. They will handle factory ammo without difficulty but may have issues with reloads(even though sized properly). I personally know of a few cases where all that was required was a visit to the gunsmith to ream the chamber. However, for the most part the LW's work well right from the get-go.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Looks like I'll take most of your experience to heart and look for some 9mm mags. If anyone has any they want to sell or trade for some 40 cal mags shoot me an email.

Cheers
