Going from +2 Mag to Stock - Modular 870

Got the Rem 870 Express Tactical. Due to an injury I need to reduce operating weight.

So I was running the idea of a modular 870.

I want to go lighter and plan on going with a 14.5" barrel at some point.

In the meantime Im looking to take off the mag tube +2 extension and go with the regular 4+1 set up.

So I need a mag tube end cap (with swivels), but my question is do I need a new spring or can I use the supplied one?


I was going to go with the Uncle Mikes end cap, or is there something else I should go with?

Anyone else have a modular shotty they use?

No need to replace the tube, just replace the end cap. You can use the longer spring...

Finished today.

Love the sleeker, cleaner look. Don't think I need the 14.5 inch barrel anytime soon.
