I was in a local Canadian tire this weekend and had seen a TAPCO TimberSmith sks monte carlo stock with a price tag of $199, I'm looking to see if that's the going rate. Thanks

Crikey! Even though I've got relatively long arms, I like the compact stock on my para model SKS and would not pay that much for a replacement stock. I took the para model out for it's first recon mission last weekend and it is an absolute joy to carry. Too bad nothing jumped out for me to shoot but I like this set up. I will admit the Timbercash stocks do look nice, and maybe if I had money to burn.....

I want Timbersmith stock...and I am ashamed to admit when I find one I will probably spend the money to get one. The stock chinese stock...is lacking...and terrible. I would go tapco but...I already have a tacticool gun. And laminate is sooo nice

My buddy just picked one up , and he had to wait almost a year to get it price sounds about right too . The stock looks good in the pics but up close and personal it's even better , feels like a baby's but on your cheek !

Thanks for the reply's.

I'd like to build my rifle up with more of a sporter look to it, but a $200 stock on a $200 gun is a little hard to take, but on the other side of it, if your in to the tacticool rig, your going to be that far into it with stock, mag, optics and other random parts.

Look's like it's time to clean up all the CT money littering my truck and garage.

If you want it buy it -according to Canada Ammo they are not expecting anymore for at least 8+ months. Tapco can't build them fast enough for the US market.

I love the look of them but why couldn't they cut the groove to accommodate the bayonet? Throws off the whole visual balance of the rifle IMO

Probably has to do with it being a sporting stock.

They feel really thick and sturdy in your hands too, albeit a little slippery. Visually they are pretty ###y, but also remind me of that trendy grey laminate hardwood flooring. Haven't handled the brown or that strange red/blue grain swirl looking version though.
