Well, as long as it isn't -40....
These are a Model 1917 US Army Model Colt in .45ACP (I apologize for the moon clips, didn't have any of the original half-moon ones), and an 1892 Colt Commercial model in .38 Long Colt. I'll be shooting light target .38 Special HBWC loads in it :) I'm especially interested in how the M1917 will shoot as it has a very nice bore. The .38 is cool as this civilian model is quite rare and it wears real mother-of-pearl grips that date back to that era. Hey, the Wild Bunch has nuthin' on me!

7x61, I hope you have a great day! I also look forward to a range report. Why? I have fired a bunch of S&W 1917s but never a Colt 1917 or 1892 Colt Commercial model in .38 Long Colt. Regards, Richard:D

Me too! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chambers on the .38 were actually long enough for .38 Specials (although I wouldn't shoot anything but mild target loads in it :)

The .45 will get some 200 grain SWC ammo at about 850. It looks like a strong gun and has a really sweet double action trigger pull. These New Service Colts were chambered for some prett good calibers, so .45ACP should not be a problem.

I really do hope I don't get too attached to either of these as I'm supposed to sell guns, not keep them to play with :)

Later

You have to love those oldies! I have a WWI vintage S&W handejector 2nd change in .455 that I shoot once in awhile at the range. Made up some light loads for it using 250 grain hardcast 45 Colt bullets in old Dominion .455 Colt cases. It's fun shooting them. And that's what they were meant for.
