Just bought a 2-4 of of old Milwaukee, got a fresh Browning sticker on the truck, bore sighted my 300 mag 5 years ago so she's good to go, got a fresh 8 inch lift in the Cummins, and real tree camo head to toe.

Probably just wear my sandals because we don't leave the truck or road here in the Shuswap.

You joke but it sounds like half the guys we get up here from the lower mainland.

Shot up mileage marker signs and logging equipment and a trail of empty beer cans indicate the new season has started. Piles of old pallets and tarps used for outhouses left behind after they head home.

3 or 4 grown men crowded into a pickup cruising every foot of passable road or skid trail in the area. ATVs doing 80 km/hr on radio controlled active logging roads getting pissed off when the drivers lay on the horns while trying to avoid killing them.

There are plenty of good hunters out there too but only the idiots stay burned into your memory.

Also ...................... they don't usually wear open-toed sandals but I have seen many pairs of camo-coloured Crocs being worn.
 
Bird season is full on and lots of birds! Got the SXS stuck twice today and Lucy put me on the birds but no joy. Had a blast, first warm day for a while so everything went well. Remote quit on the winch and would only go out. Not a good feeling but managed to bridge the plugin on the dash, couple good shocks and out we came. Love bird hunting, get to go do it again tomorrow. No 2-4 of Milwaukee but have 450 home brew in the basement so that should be alright :).
