Going to Burns Lake !!! (spring grizz hunting !!!)

Well, I did not get the LEH draw (as always) for the spring grizz, but my hunting partner did.

So we are off to Burns Lake (region 6-05 & 6-06) sometime in the spring. I think this authorization gives us better than good odds for baggin a grizz.

I can't wait. Never been up there (Burns Lake).

Obviously pics & story to follow when we got and get back.

Oh and yeah, I've been telling Rob about my plans for the last 9 or 10 months lol...

I can't believe my buddy got the tag in that exact area. Should be a good hunt.

Having devoured all I can about grizzly hunting/attacks/lore/populations etc, I would have to say you're heading into one of the hottest areas for success in Canada. Good luck and keep your head up.

Good luck man they are hard to find in that area. I did allot of moose hunting in the Burns Lake/ Smithers/ Huston area when i lived in Kitimat. I have only seen one grizzly in all my years hunting up there. Now for next year try the Kitimat / Terrice area, in one weekend I saw 4 big grizzlies talk to some people in Terrice or Kitimat and find out were the boy scout camp is across form the onion lake ski trails there is lots of big bears in that area, black or brown.

There is LOTS of moose deer and grouse, but the bears up there have HUGE ranges, so they are few and farther inbetween then other areas. well if you wont a blacky well there's lots of them up there.
