Hi Everyone,

I'm heading to Silverdale tomorrow, I want to bring my brother with me, he doesn't have his PAL yet, and before anyone asks he is 24 so not a minor, will I have any issues with having him shoot with me at the range?

He doesn't need a PAL to shoot at a range, so long as he is under the direct supervision of someone who is licenced, in this case, you.

No problem at all except that it states in the firearm code that non licensed shooters have to pay for all the ammo and refreshments afterward... oh! and they have to clean all the guns too.

Yup, good to go under direct supervision. In most cases, this means that you are NOT shooting while he's shooting. You are watching him shoot. Supervision is often also interpreted as being within an arm's length away.

Incidentally, notwithstanding any range rules of course, you would be fine if your brother was 5. There are no laws dictating a minimum age for a supervised person to be able to shoot.

Teach him well, play safe, and you shouldn't have any problems.
