But just curious, what are you gonna do with a gun that you get gold plated? Display purposes only?

Why would it be locked?

If I ever buy a desert eagle, it will be in Gold TINI Tigerstripe!

The only problem with plating the frame would be the ATT. I don't think you'll find a gunsmith that actually gold plates. Maybe a jeweler with an RPAL is a possibility? You'd have to "lend" them the pistol.
