hey guys i just picked up a golden boy the other day. i've never shot with buckhorn sights before. i noticed it was shooting a bit to the left. adjusting for elevation is easy enough, but for windage it says in the manual to tap the dove tail where the sight sits on the barrel using a dowel or something. has anyone else done this before? i'd like to hear a few tips before i go damaging the barrel by accident. also i find the front brass bead sight hard to see sometimes. would a little fluorescent paint fix that? any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

Yup...a dowel or brass punch.

Even with my brass punches, I stick a little masking tape on the tip.

You'll need to drift the rear sight towards the ejection port side.

And don't worry about damaging the barrel...you'll be surprise how tough it is.

Take your time.

As for the gold bead...try a dab of white out.

white out made quite a difference. the sight picture is much more clear with the white diamond in the buckhorn.
