Hi I had ordered Varget to try in my .223 but as you probably all know it's almost imposible to get...Any sugestion on what other powder I could use that gave you good results.Bullets I have on hand are 75g A-Max and 70g Bergers.

Imr4895 and H4895 can both handle heavy 223 bullets. I however have been unable to produce anything better than moa at 100 yards with 75 gr Hornady match HPBT's. Benchmark eh, I might have to try that.

I just tripped into 5lbs of Varget in Medhat this week... they said it just came in so perhaps there is a new shipment in the country?

Big bullets in 223

Go with the stick powders leave the ball powders for the 40 to 60gr bullets they work well there

Liberty on site, shot a .530" group at 300 yards with Kreiger/McFee ,7.7 twist28" 700 action.

Brothers 223 28" Hart 1/7 twist, 80gr Sierra's & VT 540 .600" 5 shots at 300y
My Factory Rem 700 XCR LRT 1/9 with 75gr Bergers VT 540 .873" at 300y can't seem to run with those customs
RL 15 another good powder best for higher velocity

If you have it locally, TAC by Ramshot is excellent for heavy bullets in 223 and very cost effective. I am just working up a load for 52g to see if I can get the same performance I get from the 308.
Cheers
