What is a good 22lr tx22 seems to get great reviews, I am a little reluctant to get in bed with Taurus, there’s the ruger sr22, ppq22, m and p 22, colt1911 22 ,but not really wanting a1911 type 22, thinking m and p , walther, ruger sr, am I missing anything.

Since you are not looking for a target pistol here is my suggestion. Depending on the size of your hands. I own an Ruger SR22 and its on the smaller side but I have put over 4000 round through it without any major issues. The Walther PPQ mimics the size and feel of the PPQ M2 9mm. Its has excellent ergonomics and again has had no major issues. I also had a Glock 44 while again mimics the size and feel of the Glock 19. This gun ran flawlessly. I actually sold this Glock to get the Walther.
IMHO these are 3 fantastic plinking guns and which ever one you get the cleanup and maintenance is simple. Just remember to stock up on ammo because you will burn through it at the range.

Look for a clean used standard model Ruger. Hard to beat.
If you want a revolver, look for a High Standard Sentinel. Excellent recreational shooter, often under appreciated, often under priced.

The M&P .22 is quite reliable as is the PPQ, both are a fairly good representation of the 9mm they mimic. The Glock 44 has been an excellent pistol for me, I’ve heard complaints about being picky on ammo, but I haven’t had any trouble. The Sig 226 in .22 is a great pistol with the added bonus of the ability to add a 9mm slide when you like. The CZ Cadet in .22 is also a fine gun but hard to find new, used is probably more realistic for both the Sig and CZ
Personally I’m holding out for the new FN 502 Tactical if and when it gets here

Yes the ppq has fibre optic front sight, thks

What do you want to do with it? There are many more options than what you've listed (some named above).
Plinking at the range not really target shooting only other gun is a canik Tp9sa, just sold sig 320, but I don t care if the grips are similar. I have read positive reviews of tx22 Taurus.

I just purchased the TX22. I really like it. The only issue is the rear sight doesn't always hold elevation. I have it set for 10 yds and it holds alright there. I think for the money it is a good, fun pistol. I think IRGs has them for just over $300US now.

For reference, I also have an M&P, High Standards, Buckmark, and other more accurate 22s. Rested, I think the M&P may be slightly more accurate but that could just be me...

Would you pick the m and p over the Taurus?

If I were you I would seek out a Beretta Model 71.
Preferably with both the 4.2 inch and 6 inch barrel and at least three mags. Realistically finding even one with the 6 inch barrel is a first victory. Any spare mags the second victory.
