Good books on M1 Garands and M14

Lee emerson's history and development of the m14 is invaluable knowledge for the m14 enthusiast... But I think what the OP is looking for is books that get into how they operate and possibly more.
As mentioned above, and the ONLY book that is considered the bible for any M14/M1garand smith worth a spit, is Jerry Kuhnhaussen's 30 cal service rifle shop manual.
Scott duff and a few others also have books out there that while not as in depth, are also excellent resources.
Brownells, midway ect
You could also try p.m.'ing Gothmog, as he did have a few copies of the kuhnhaussen manual in his stash a while back iirc.

Thank you for all the info , I appreciate it . I am aware the m14 is prohibited I have a norinco m305 I enjoy shooting it and I think I have gotten the bug for battle rifles
