So i just got myself a very nicely modded cz 858 from a great cgner on here, but i am looking to see if there are any good ambi mag release levers out there. I know NEA made some last year, but dont advertise them on their website any more. I've started looking through all the various threads on these guns (WHEW!) but havent found what i want. didnt see any listed in the EE either. Also, I'm a dunce when it comes to mechanically inclination, so if anyone knows how to swap them out with pics, I'd be ever so appreciative.

NEA's ambi mag release is great, and should be back into production sometime. From what I read here they are concentrating on bigger and newer things right now. They are moving to a larger facility soon, which should restore the supply of all those great little aftermarket parts.

I've been waiting on one for months. You're right, they aren't offered on the website anymore. They were on Wolverine's site, but are no longer. And NEA hasn't answered my e-mails about availbility. So who knows.....

Dlask makes mag releases. I have two sets and like them as he has rounded the edges and added serations "that just feel right" when removing the mag.
Of course your mileage may vary.....

I use this one (left is original, right is modified one)

I like it a lot, it is possible to release the mag easily with trigger finger and original functionality is fully retained. Coupled with extended bolt release you can do all the operations with trigger finger without releasing pistol grip.

Hint, get an ambi mag release. I have one because my son is a lefty, but I discovered that it's useful for righties too. One of the CQB new changes is to lay on our side and fire. With being on my left, I can hold the rifle with my left hand and use my right hand to change mags.

I have tried out a side hammer extension like the one you use on a lever action 22 or winchester 30-30. It works good for me, has a set screw to hold it tight. Uncle Mikes is who makes the one I have. Wholesale sports sells them. not as nice as a NEA set up, but it is available now.

This is something I have been looking into lately but have yet to pull the trigger on one. Which part did you go with? I've been able to find dimensions on some hammer extensions but all the ones I have seen are pretty far off.

I think it was from a marlin lever gun but not certain right now. I ended up shaping a hunk of plastic of the same thickness into a piece of the same width as the factory release and then took it with me to the store. Lucky enough, the extensions were in blister packs that weren't edge sealed and i could try them out till i found one that felt good.
The key is the set screw to lock it all up.
Sorry for not being much more help on this as it was last summer when I heard of the idea here from another nutter here!

Do these guys ship to canada? I cant read czech. Or was there another place this can be ordered from?

I got my NEA ambi mag release in like two weeks from Target Sports in ON. I received it just two weeks ago so they may still have some in stock. Check their website.

Yes, they ship to Canada. I have ordered things from them in the past and they are very accomodating.

When ordering google translate is your friend, at least it was for me. I did have to send them a couple e-mails and I sent them in English appologizing for my lack of Czech and they replied in English much to my surprise.
