Good Eotech mount for carry handle AR?

I run my Eotech on a railed handguard with my A2 upper. It co-witnesses OK with the irons, slightly less than half (a bit higher than I'd like). I haven't had any loss of zero after ~500 rounds. Maybe I'm just lucky it hasn't shifted yet but seems to work...

It makes it kinda nose heavy, but I like to wrap my hand around the front of the magwell in lieu of a forgrip, and it balances pretty nicely like that. A bonus is I can turn the sight on with my thumb without moving my hand.

Carry handle uppers are great for shooting irons, KISS and all and I like them. But once you start putting an Eotech and mount up there, you take the KISS right out of it and now have a really high Eotech. A stripped flat top upper is about the same price as that mount ~$130, and the Eotech bolts right on.

The downside is then you'll have a spare upper staring at you all the time, and then you'll want to get a stripped lower 'just to have it', and then it's a new rifle, and then a barrel deal pops up and so on LOL...

Do what the high speed boys of the CF did to the C8. Used a RAS and you can still co-witness the sights.

Actually I got it for my 22 insert kit. It is just for fun. I dont have to worry about the 223 round making it to terminal ballistic speed My paper targets cant tell the diference any way

I don't get the cowitness thing. Having all that aluminium blocking your field of view doesnt do it for me. Folding front sight and BUIS for me

I hope i wasnt coming off harshly. It wasn't my intention. If i were you, I'd just buy a flat top upper and be done with it.

Fixed carry handle rifles have a kind of KISS coolness to 'em, but when it comes time to mount an optic, why screw around with add on mounts to the carry handle?

I will gladly take that upper receiver from your hands....
