I have a Rem 700 stock that was inletted for a detachable mag system (ie. material removed/bottom metal area expanded). It is a very nice stock, and I'd like to bring it back to standard by filling the expanded area. I will be simply clamping standard bottom metal into the epoxy filled stock and and then letting the epoxy cure in shape. I will need a really good release agent/epoxy combo given the amount of surface area in contact with the epoxy. Suggestions? I'm more predisposed to epoxies and release agents available in hardware and marine retailers (like JB weld and Pam spray for instance) than purpose built gun bedding kits that I find unnecessarily pricey and the same stuff available industrially for much less. If this is misguided, by all means let me know. Appreciate any advice here, cheers!
