Good Find 30-06 ball

So a buddy came to me and says I've got this ammo I found on the west coast when I was younger .....I'm thinking some old 30-30 shells or something.....nope turns out he has almost 400 rnds of Lake City Match Ammo 1960's vintage and close to 200 rnds of the same in enbloc clips.......turns out he found a cabin in the mid eighties while Logging and this ammo was in 50 cal cans under the rotted floor boards ammo is in near perfect condition.....he says he has no use for it and wants to sell it.....I want to be fair . What should I offer him for it?

Sounds like that old Harley in the barn story .or the $50 army jeep story .
But there was thousands of rnds of 3006 in garand clips in ammo box's for sale
cheap on the coast back in the 80's

$.50/round would be a fair market price. I'd prefer to pay in the $.30-.40/rd range.

If you can get it for .50 a round your stealing it. Price out the cheapest commercial and you'll see. Enblocs still fetch $2.00 a piece as well. I know this stuff was plentiful and cheap when dinosaurs roamed the earth but those days are over. jump on it.
