I'm gonna take a trip somewhere to a good gun show this year. I wouldn't mind sticking to Alberta Sask or BC. I like lots of guns and hunting stuff. If you have any personal experience with any of these shows coming up let me know. Gimme your take on them. Thanks guysRandybtw....I don't consider Edmonton to be a destination. I've seen all the comic books, German army helmets and $400 Cooey model 64's I can handle......

I think the Calgary show this April 6 and 7 will be a good one.

If you have been there once you have been there a thousand times. :)

Used products asking new prices and all the dealers trade back and forth so much that it is the same stuff just at a different table year after year.

Oh well, maybe this year will be different...

You would think that in this province we would have a good show somewhere.....I would even go to the SHOTSHOW but its in Florida this year, not Vegas.

I have never been to a bad gun show. I hear the Calgary April show will have 800 tables this year. The fact that it has people from all over Canada is a plus. Where else can you go to see a good selection of used guns? Old Joe Kokas has been at every gun show supplying old gun parts to people that don't know where to find them. If we get them dam lieberals back you watch how fast gun shows disapear and then see who #####es the most-----likely the same old boo birds------Cowboy

In Alberta, the easter Calgary show is one of the best, but I'm afraid that isn't saying much. South of the border is where the big shows are, I've worked in small railroad towns (say 20,000 to 25,000 people) that have shows where they need two or three halls to hold all the tables, and if the weathers good, there are still a whole bunch of guys in the parking lot. Kind of sad really. - dan

Come to the Edmonton Gun Show......if that doesn't turn your guts, nothing will. They sell tables to anyone selling anything. It's more of a flea market.......has anyone ever bought a ticket for a knitted blanket before at a gun show??? I have. It was the only decent thing there. I think I will venture to Calgary for the show. Maybe even buy Dave a beer.;)

Before I saw the light & moved; the Landsborough Gun Auction in Paris, Ontario use to be not bad. The same as most auctions though the cheaper stuff fetched top dollar 'most of the time' & deals were found on the higher end stuff. Bought a dog there once... came up deaf, so I did what any self respecting man would do & pond him off to the father-in-law. He just figured he was as stupid as the previous owner. lol!

Randy, couldn't agree with you and Dave anymore. A couple of friends and I go every year as a day out with the boyz so to speak. Lunch and a cold one.
Best thing to do is to know your prices real well, I bring a catalogue with me.
If the weather sucks, I'll be going to the Thorncliff Community Hall. If the weather clears up and wind dies down, NOT.

The directors of the Calgary show are aware that people are complaining about flea market junk being sold at the shows and are trying to discourage it. This years show will be bigger than last year and hopefully will have less junk.

Randy, if you decide to come east instead, the Eganville show held on Sat/Sun the third weekend in August is as good as we have in this part of the country.

Unfortunately, this year I have to miss it since I will be on an Alaska Cruise with my folks and our families - Dad is a cancer survivor and wanted to do this trip, so it was an easy decision to cancel out of Eganville.

On the positive side, Dizzy Dan is going to take my table(s) this year so I can stay on the list of invited vendors!!!

Doug

I always enjoy the Kamloops show and make a special trip up for it. It is around the end of March. I'm not yet sure of the dates this year but probably March 24/25 or March 30/April 1.

.................Randy you are so right on the money. When i lived in Fort Mac i would leave in the morning for the show stroll around for a couple hours and turn and make the 5 hour trip back. Did this for three shows and learned it wasn't improving and was a waste of time. Now i am only 90 minutes away and i wouldn't even think of going. You can also add ridiculous prices for Winchesters to the list now that Winchester is tits up and everyone with a rusted out 94 thinks they should get 500.00 and up for them.
