Good gunsmith Kingston area

Hey guys

I am looking for a skilled gunsmith in the Kingston Ontario area that is capable of doing the following jobs and doing them well:

- Glass/pillar bedding a bolt action rifle

- Properly fill drilled and tapped holes with weld in a bolt and lever action receiver and redrill and tap in correct location

- Re chamber a .222 Remington to a .223 Remington and restamp the barrel with .223 by filling the last 2 with weld and re stamping so as to look factory original.

The gunsmiths at sfrc said they were not able to rechamber or fill receiver holes and another gunsmith near by in prince Edward county did sub par finish work for my needs.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
 
Doubtful on the barrel stamp welding. I’ve seen laser welding/engraving done but depending on what finish is it’ll show. What type of bolt gun? Might be worth a new barrel with the correct twist for the weight you want.
 
I am unsure if I talked with one or both gunsmiths at sfrc

I just remember I called and asked what services they provided and he said a full range of gun smithing services but then when I said rechambering and filling holes they weren’t able to do it.

As for what rifle it’s for it’s for a Remington 600 and since only 315 of them were made in .223 I don’t think I’ll ever find a .223 barrel floating around

We can fill receiver holes and rechamber firearms but we are so behind with barrel work that we aren't accepting any new rebarrelling jobs at this time.
