good load for .204?

I have 2 loads for 2 different rifles, my HS like 40gr ballistic tips with 27 gr of varget and my CZ like 32gr Vmax with 28gr of Win 748. FS

I shoot 27grs of H4895 with 40gr Bergers and 25 grs of RL-10x with 40 gr Bergers. With 35gr Bergers 26grs of RL-10x or 28grs of H4895. Or 26grs H4895 with 39gr Blitz Kings. I decided to go with the 40grn Bergers and H4895 and shoot 1/2" groups steadily with a stock Remington SPS.
LOVE the Bergers!

I have been using H4895 for the last couple years with good results. Because 99% of my shooting is at gophers I purposely load midrange (25.6 gr - 40 gr v-max & 26.3 gr - 32 gr v-max) to save wear and tear on the brass and barrel will get a few more shots off before cooling is required. My coyoted load is 28.2 gr - 35 gr berger. I believe this load is approaching max and I do use a magnum primer so approach with caution. Hope you enjoy your 204 as much as I do - happy shooting. :)

My Remington likes WW748

I use 28.0 grs. of WW 748 with a CCI BR primer and Hornady brass in my Remington. I load 30gr. Bergers and they are deadly accurate with this combination. I cleaned out a field of gophers recently with the longest shots being 210 yards and this combination is dead on.
Frankly, I thought Varget would be better but WW 748 has proven to be the best so far. I bought an 8 pound canister of it recently, mainly for 5.56, so it works out much cheaper as well.
BTW, the Hornady 32 gr. VMax works quite well (in my gun anyway) with the same load.

H4895 works well in most .204's (including mine) and I'd suggest 39 gr Sierra Blitz Kings for really reaching out there and putting the hurt on gophers. (Not that I get to shoot any here. :( ). I've also used RL10X and W748 with success. Hoping to try working up some loads for the 40 gr and 50 gr Berger in my new 1 in 10 twist .204 barrel soon. I do recommend that you use thicker cup primers for your .204 reloads, like the CCI 450 or BR4, or Fed 205M.

I am having good results with 40gr V-max over 27.5gr BL-C(2). Rem brass and fed 205 primers. My OAL is 2.4", 0.020" off the lands shooting from a Savage 12FV. 5 shot average of 3712 FPS.

My CZ likes Benchmark. It seems the more powder I use the more accurate it gets. I chickened out and stopped at .2g over max load with no signs of overpressure. Varget gave similar results.
