Good luck to all of the Ontario turkey hunters in the morning!

Beauty bird and congrats. Just an FYI but when a dominant mature Tom comes knockin and you dont become submissive, YAH get a beatin as in WING layed on yah. He knew exactly what it was and concentrated on that unsubmissive hen. Notice he didnt even approach the other SUBMISSIVE hen.

Interesting...I've used those decoys for a decade now and have never got that kind of reaction from a tom before. I've had hens peck and badger the living daylights out of them but that seemed more of a jealousy thing...this was more of a "b'tch where's my money?" thing. 😀

He came in for one reason and that was to breed and when she didn’t submit he was teaching her a lesson. I have had them jump the decoy off the stake and try humping the flattened out layin on the ground decoy. A low mounted feeder looks a lot like a hen ready to breed. That’s what maybe fired him up so much or maybe you’re calling. Fighting purrs from hens can drive them wild.

thanks for the video. in my area i am not seeing turkeys. it has been a long tough winter. my son thinks the coyotes have got them . i am not so sure and believe the weather is to blame.

Having used a 1 jake/2 hen decoy setup for many years, I too have never witnessed that type of behaviour towards a hen. I think the tom mistook the hen for a jake. I'm not calling Longstud a liar, I've just never seen that type of aggression towards a hen (unsubmissive or otherwise). Usually, it's the hens that, at times, show aggression towards a tom, either when they're new (hens establishing hierarchy among themselves), or a young/weak jake.

Anywho, good video, nice bird. Congrats!
