Good material for preventing ejection marks?

Im not trying to 'get' anywhere #1.

#2, this thread has been just absolute idiots flinging #### because I asked a simple question in good faith.

If yall like ugly pock-marked guns thats fine, clearly this wasnt the thread for you to contribute in.

I was raised to take care of my posessions, especially ones I worked hard to buy.

Maybe you were raised in a barn.

Apparently, my sense of humour isn't appreciated by everyone. No foul was intended on your original post.
The 3M tape people mentioned is stupid expensive. I have 4-6" square left over from a roll I used to line the rockers of my new car.
It might do the job but the happy face dings from the casing may shorten the life and function. It is also pretty thick and will not blend into your gun very well.
Requires water to float the material into place and they recommend wax/oil remover be applied to substrate prior to installation.

May not work well with the gun oil and other solvents used to preserve/clean gun.

However, as a peace offering, I would be willing to mail you my left over roll, so you could experiment with little to no cost (other than your time).

Appreciate the humour/ wit but make sure it doesn't get out of hand lol.

I used to but a piece of black tape on the shell deflector. I gave that up too after my rifles were worn/used enough that it was the only pristine spot on the receiver.

I wrapped my AR barrel once when shooting through a VTAC board. After the looks I got from the other competitors, I gave that up quickly.

I feel your pain OP. I was/ is OCD like that. But I just learnt to embrace the ding. Take a different perspective. It’s an AR variant, not some H&H double barrel shotgun.
