I’m looking into a good over and under, a real keeper that I can rely on for hunting and clays. I just started thinking about it this week end and I’m looking into a beretta silver pigeon 1 right now. Is it worth saving for? Any other ones in that price range or less that I should look into?

Thanks

Alex

Clay target guns are usually on the heavy side to carry all day. If you are a young person and in really good physical condition, then this is not really an issue. Berettas and Brownings are excellent shotguns that can be shot for many years with minimal maintenance. Try all the shotguns you can, to try and see what fits and works the best for you, before you buy.

How about a fine old Winchester 101 the XTR Featherwight model, vent rib, 3 inch chamber, 6 chokes. Now NIB or minty this one is not, but still a heck of a nice light weight 12 gauge over and under. Pm me if you are interested. FS

Browning and Beretta are solid choices, if clays are the priority, avoid lightweight guns, as recoil is greater. If the primary usage is hunting, a lighter gun can be an advantage.

Thanks for your replies guys! I usually like them on the heavier side. I look at some brownings as well... also I'd rather buy a new one for now...well unless I find a really high end piece at a steal but wouldn't we all..

I would try one of the Fabarm Elos, made in Italy , oiled stock, I have two from the shooting edge and like them so much I sold my Cynergy and my berettas, amazing quality and well priced!!!!

If your looking at spending $2500.00-$3500.00 as far as quality goes that price range puts them pretty much on parr now u have to find the one that suits and fits u the best .

Agreed. I also have a Fabarm Axis O/U and it is excellent as well. I prefer it to the Beretta and Browning O/U's that I've had. They make some good stuff.

There's a beautiful Browning Superposed in the EE right now that I'd buy in a second if I didn't already have one a year or two newer. Actually, I'd swap mine for that one because I love the double triggers. Why don't you buy his then trade me for mine? I think you'd be getting a hell of a deal even if you just went with his.
