Good price on a 30-378 accumark

If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it... just like a yacht !

Wait till you get a load of the price for factory ammo, (if you can find it in stock) good brass, and, if you're reloading, something in an around 70 or fewer shells from a pound of powder. Biggest shame is that Hodgdon H870 is no longer being produced.

If you can stand the price, wonder if you can stand the recoil & noise !

Why does Mr. "only fired it 60 times" want to sell ???
Sore shoulder ? Incurable flinch ?

The reason I want to know is not because I don't have the money it is because "a fool and his money are soon parted" and I am no fool. As for the recoil and noise I am use to it. I shoot my .338 lapua often. Guys that can't handle the noise and recoil should stay away from it but for me the enjoyment of seeing the impact of those big bullets a mile away will always out way the punishment. As for h870 being discontinued, who cares, w872 can be gotten for a fraction of the cost and Hodgdons is introducing H869 in the spring.

Wasn't meant as an insult, but these big-cased rifles are hardly a nice introduction to someone who's a "6mmShooter".

Nice to see you've done your homework ... and are experianced.

In our part of the world, a 30-378 Mark V Accumark is just a little over
$ 2,000 retail, + tax, so Yup, your "used" for 60 rounds price looks O.K.,
all considered.

6mm ...

... Where do you purchase your "w872 powder for a fraction of the cost"
( of H870 ) ... and where/when was the announcement about Hodgdon H869 ... seemingly not on their web-site. ????

I get the powder here in Regina. Also pick it up anytime I am going through Montana. It works out to about $5 canadian a pound. I heard about h869 on an American forum so I e-mail hodgdons myself and asked them. They said it is true and it will be out in the spring. I will see if i still have the e-mail.

I guess its a good price if you compare it to replacement cost today but when i bought my 30-378 accumark ( mine was one of the first into Canada...I had to wait over 6months for brass !)

I can't remember exactly what year it was ( probably 8 years ago) i paid a little over $1100 for mine . The accumarks have gone up quite a bit in price even though the synthetics ( lowest cost MarkV has not changed more than a couple of hundred
