As many of us here on CGN, I have a M305 on order from Marstar and should be getting it in a month or so. I have been trying to figure out all of the stuff that I need for it and would like to have a Scope Mount, and Scope ready to be installed for the day that it comes in the mail.

I already have had some good idea's of what kind of Mount to get, and were to get it from. Now I am at a Crossroads with what type of Scope to get for it. Keep in mind that price is a factor, but I don't want to have a piece of cheap junk though. I currently have a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 that I could put on it, but I was actually thinking that a ACOG style scope would look much better on it. I know NCstar makes one, but they look kind of cheap. Does Burris, Nikkon, or Bushnell make anything like I am talking about?

Who makes a affordable ACOG style scope, in the under $400 range? If such a thing is available? I will be using this rifle for occasional target shooting, and I may even take it Moose and Deer hunting. (When I hunt, I use a ATV with a Gun Boot, so I don't care that it weighs 3-5lbs more than a hunting rifle.)

Do you think that Burris would look too big on the rifle? I have always thought that people usually mount a shorter type of Military scope on the M-14?

If price is a concern, I have a 3-9x40 Leapers on my M-305. Has the length to adjust wherever your eye needs it and it's only about 120$. I've put a few hundred rounds through it with no problems. Just MO.:)

Best bang for the buck is the Bushnell 3200 10X mildot. About $200 bucks new and VERY nice for that price. I have one on one of my M14's.

I put a millet DMS on my m14 shorty. its a 1 to 4 power, turn it on and you got a red dot. I bought it from frontier, free shipping, you cant go wrong.

Do those Leapers hold Zero? They do actually look just like a Acog.

So far it's holding zero. I have it set for 150 yrds, and the mil-dot reticle makes it easy to go further. Before I put it on my M-14 I had it on a 22-250 and it was a tack driver. Well, actually it was a beercap driver at 100 yrds.:)

This is my set-up, lots of fun on the range....
