Good scope mount for No 1 Mk 3

Parker Hale side mount for the No.1 mk3 is a decent mount and the PH rings are good as well both having recoil lugs to prevent to rings moving forward under recoil as they tend to do with the Weaver TO-1 base. No longer made but there are a few still kicking around.

(1) There's no such word as "grinded" in the English language, Bubba. Past tense of "grind" is "ground". (2) With no charging clip guide left, you're pretty much stuck with drill & tap to install a scope base on a L-E No. 1 . You have nothing to lose, as your receiver has already been disfigured.

Parker Hale A27 side mount and Parker Hale RALS.3 rings. These work excellent for straight tube scopes - Bushnell 2 1/2, Weaver K2.5, K3. Might need RAHS.3 rings if you are installing a larger front objective scope. Clamp side mount in place right behind receiver. Square top of side mount by making its top flat parallel with bottom of receiver. Centre the scope adjustments. Assemble scope in rings, rings on side mount. Bore sight - adjust side mount (up down, shims) until optically centred scope is in line with bore. Mark, drill and tap first hole. Repeat bore sighting for each of the remaining two mounting screws.

This, the damage is done.

I'd love to have a scope mounted on a no.1 but I'd have to find a bubba'd receiver, as I would not want to drill & tap or grind a LE just to fit an optic.
