With 5 min left in legal shooting last Friday, I managed to bag this big fella. He's a pretty nice trophy for where I hunt, and certainly my best. He's not the biggest bodied deer I've seen, but his rack is really wide!
I tried for 20 min to coax him into where I had a clear shot but he never showed me more than part of himself behind the fence row. He then walked east, back into the bush, so I texted my buddy to come pick me up. As soon as i put my phone back in my pocket, he appeared over my right shoulder and gave me an awkward 90 yard shot from the tree stand. It ended up being a bit of a spine shot, which worked out because he dropped like a bag of bricks and expired in about 20 seconds. We got 5 in all, but he was definitely the highlight.
