Browning Silver,Winchester sx3 would be at the upper end of your price range for new guns,or a used Beretta,or Remington 1100 would be my choice.Try the Equipment exchange below the forums, and you might get more replies if you post in the Skeet/trap/sporting clays forum.

A lower end gun will do for a field gun that only shoots a few boxes of shells per year, but a skeet gun will often shoot several thousand rounds per year,so you want a better quality gun that will stand up to a lot of shooting.

Go with a O/U

If you are at a club where you are required to clean up and discard your own empties, or if you want to reload them.

In Canada 4-5 months of the year your digging your hull out of the snow , at the end of the round. And if you are going to reload there is always the "Water in side them" problem. I put away the auto's for the winter for just that reason alone.

Go buy a Browning Citori and be happier. Get one of the older ones before they went to "Invector Plus" choke tubes there are lots of them out there relatively cheap. Darn good gun for the buck. Nothing wrong with "Invector Plus" just a bit more money usually

Just my opinion.

Have fun on the skeet field !
