Good smiths for an 858?

What did you need done?
Eastern Provinces, NEA or Ellwood Epps.
Prairies, Rauch & Wolfgang @ Wolverine
B.C. you have Dlask, Infratek & bronco.
I am sure there are other's such as Frank @ Marstar but I am un-arware of them taking on work.

Your problem will be the bolt lock. There are 8 different sizes of bolt lock ( the little latch part that goes together with your bolt ,carrier, and striker.) This is how proper headspace is set on an 858.

Unpinning the barrel and setting it back because of headspace.

The barrels are not headspaced that way... You need a correctly sized Locking Piece for your carrier.

You can headspace a new barrel (unpinned) to any bolt/lock combo, but not pull and reset a current barrel. I have pulled old barrels and spaced by welding the barrel in place, but not an ideal method. Unfortunately not many options for a current barrel.

As explained, Need the locks. Talk to Wolverine... Maybe they'll let you buy all and return 7.. Or send it to them to gauge for you.

I had this problem as well (devoured the no go guage).

From what I heard from the gunsmith, none of Wolfgangs bolt locks was right and the gunsmith still has the rifle.

This is a CZH2003 though, which is from Marstar. I wonder if they use different bolt locks on this compared to the 858.
