Good solvent for tung oil on metal

What's a good solvent for tung oil that's made it's way onto the metal, terpentine? Nail polish remover? Will either harm the blue?

Mineral spirits.

It won't hurt the blueing either.

NO, Turpentine will remove it off the metal,after wipe off residue with oil. Jim

I use mineral spirits to cut the 100% tung oil I apply to stocks (it acts as a drier.)

I also use mineral spirits to clean the stain brushes after application.

Denatured alcohol should work too, as well as turpentine.

None of them should harm the blueing. just apply a good gun oil after the metal is dry.

"...stays for good..." Does on wood, but it won't penetrate steel.
