Good source for completed AR-15 uppers and LPK's?

I bought a stripped lower back when C-71 was announced and after volunteering at a range day during which .223/5.56 AR-15's were the hardest guns to source (from range members volunteering anyways), I've committed to building the AR so it's available for the event next year. Never built an AR before and I'd like to keep it on the simpler side for now, so I'm looking for a complete LPK and a completed upper in .223 (and a stock I imagine as it doesn't look like either of those come with one).

Find LPK's online hasn't been too hard, I've been told BCM is high end, I'm wondering how something like DPMS would do as well (since it's cheaper but not the cheapest)?

Finding completed uppers has proven more difficult. Found a few from Radical Firearms, how are they for quality (also, because I found they have a 410 upper and I kinda want to bring an AR to trap day)? I've also seen some kits that look to be just an upper + barrel (+ handguard I think), would I be better off buying one of these and a complete bolt carrier group instead?

Any other recommendations would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Calgary Shooting Centre should have some complete uppers. Last I saw there was BCM and Knights. And I think DPMS LPKs. When I built my AR I used a BCM LPK, I don't mind their stock trigger.

Assembling an AR is straight forward. If you have concerns or unsure how to build it youtube is your friend. You'll need some tools to properly torque the barrel nut on so thats something to consider.
Most manufacturers have minimum MilSpec standard so in theory they should be comparable, some do various styles of finishes like anodizing, ceracoating etc then different bells and whistles. My first AR was a norc 14.5 that I got from Marstar years ago but they did something to piss people off here and were removed from here. I like True Arms North, they have good selection of stuff and I used them to build my Aero lower using this kit + upper stripped receiver.

But they also have complete upper for sale too

I think you've linked the US site, can I order from there and they'll coordinate with the Canadian site?

As others have pointed out, yes you can and yes they do.

IRG US site is a good source for a HUGE variety of firearms, parts and accessories. If something I want is in stock and ready to go at a Canadian retailer that's the route I take but IRG carries many items that are hard to get here, wait times are ridiculously long or that are plain and simply not available here. This is where I find IRG to be a huge asset for the Canadian consumer.

Depending on when you order relative to their monthly order cut off date the wait time is usually ~a couple months. There has been the occasional time where shipments get delayed due to reasons beyond anyone's control (government regulations, export permits etc...) but that's not common and it's a chance I'm willing to take if it means I'm going to get product that I otherwise wouldn't get easily or not at all here.

Even ordering through Canadian retailers doesn't go smooth all the time and wait times often greatly exceed the wait times that I've experienced from IRG. For example, there was a post popped up on here (CGN) just yesterday where a couple guys were waiting for an Angstadt Arms dedicated 9mm AR15 lower that were ordered through a Canadian retailer almost a full year ago and they still don't have it. IRG has this exact lower in stock on their US site and if those guys ordered it from IRG instead of the Canadian retailer they would have had their lowers months ago. But instead they're still waiting on their Canadian guy.

If there's something you want on the IRG site that isn't in stock somewhere in Canada or that you simply can't get here don't be afraid to order it from them. Just remember to be a little patient after you order but even then I find less patience is required than is when ordering from our Canadian guys.

If it weren't for IRG and Brownells I don't know what I'd do.

Just my .02
