Good Source for Garand Clips

I've got a nice Garand, but no clips and single-shotting it is sure not fun.

I've ordered some clips from Marstar...over a week ago. They still haven't charged my card so presumably they haven't shipped. They're horribly slow at answering emails and the time difference (I'm in BC) sometimes makes calling them difficult.

Where is a good Canadian source for en-blocs? Most US retailers I've seen won't accept Canadian orders; eBay isn't so bad as most sellers will ship here or to my US P.O. box, but price is often unpredictable.

Thanks for the help!

You can find M-1 clips littering battlefields all over the world. If you don't want to travle, try Milarm in Edmonton. I seem to remember seeing some in there not so long ago!

I got about 5 en-blocs from Marstar and you are right, very slow...and I live 1 hour from them. However, they did arrive.

when you find them---buy lots. rember you are dealing with a gun that can off the "line" in 1936. No military is using them, so there are no clips or large amounts of 3006 ammo. In the future we all will be switching 3006 barrels to 7.62 nato barrels to keep shooting. Parts are also getting hard to find and the US interest in garands doesn't help canadian collectors.

Really? Maybe not in Canada, but we can easily find 30-06 ball below the border.
CMP has all we could want. but shipping north of the border is another matter.

Just an update - I have inquired to a place in the US who is willing to ship internationally and has a decent price ($1 per clip - USGI)...we'll see how that goes.

As far as ammo and parts...150gr .30-06 isn't too hard too find, even if it is commercial (I look at it this way: one night in the armoury pays for 40 rounds)...and lots of places that sell parts seem to be willing to ship to a US PO box. Since my M1 is not a USGI M1 but a post-war European one, I'm not too concerned with securing USGI parts.

Be advised, that Gun Parts Corp (Numrich) in the US is advertising brand new M1 Garand en bloc clips. I purchased a dozen in December and absolutely NONE worked in my rifle, as a matter of fact 8 rds wouldn't even fit in the clip. I believe that they are new manufacture from China. Buyer beware. Try the gunshow route. Very interesting web site for clips

Can 14, obviously you don't reload! The same .308 projectile that is used in the .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO is used in the .30-06/7.62x63mm. Reloading is the only way to go with the .30-06 these days.

Always keep a dozen or so clips on hand. Competition ? I only go through about 3 or 4 of them including my SLED (a specially modified clip that makes the M1 think it's an M14 during slow fire, single shot mode).

After a while you get very fast at loading 8 rds into a clip with perfect alignment. You can even practice this in your living room ( pull the drapes if you live in Moronto, ON) without the rifle while watching da Leafs lose. LOL Go Leafs Go!!

Peace be to journey

Milarm has got a 55gal drum about half full... about $1.50 each IIRC. They will ship next day (usually). I may even have a dozen or so to spare as well, pm me. However, Milarm would be faster as I'd have to unpack some boxes.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I finally was able to get Marstar on the phone and they told me they're back-logged right now (volume wise) but will ship my order Friday. We'll see how truthful that is. I may end up PMing some people! :)

Well, hopefully this story is coming to a happy end!

I emailed/phoned nearly every firearm retail in the greater Vancouver region and the Fraser Valley...not M1 clips to be found. Numrich in NJ, and two places in Alberta also had nothing. The place in California I contacted had some, but would not ship to Canada.

Marstar finally charged my credit card on Friday so hopefully the clips will show up sometime this week. I'm headed to the HACSBC show on Sunday so I'll pick up a few spares there if I can.

Lesson for next time: take advantage of my US PO box!:)
