That may be the case for you, but in general, I disagree. I once had an SVT 40 and adjusted the gas site. The issue lies in how deep the tortion grooves/flutes are cut and how strong the round being fired is, pressure wise.

That is one variable that changes from rifle to rifle,that is, how deep the flutes are. Mine are pretty shallow, but I've yet to see ones so deep that they don't come out after being resized. Perhaps push them over a 7.92mm expander ball before resizing them.
 
Just shoot surplus it is the cheapest source and we have a lot of it at the moment.

We have soft point new production at great price. On a new production I believe we have the best price at the moment.
