good Tt 33 article

This part sounds like he's confused....
" The TT-33's firing pin can, however, be shortened in a way that makes it a free floating design. Some of the Chinese Norinco 213 Tokarevs that were made for export to the US have free floating firing pins. Such firing pins are generally considered more than adequately reliable for common civilian use, and I highly recommend that anyone with a TT-33 consider switching to a free floating firing pin in order to hedge their bets against an accident."
Free floating is like in the AR15, SKS or M14 etc, no spring but other safety features built in to the design to prevent slam fires and out of battery kbooms.
I know what he is saying, just used the wrong term and unfortunately its in a way that could f somebody up if they took it literally. He meant like a 1911 where the hammer can rest fully forward on a live round and the firing pin won't be resting on the primer. The pin is short enough so it doesn't protrude when the hammer is down....you never want to remove the firing pin spring from one of these.

Good read, I know when I first got mine I sat with it for about an hour after stripping and cleaning to get to know it better. - Understanding the half #### hammer and the gun as a whole helped to better appreciate the respect the gun.. but I do that with every new one I get.
