Goodbye to Jan de Vries

Today we lost another one of the greatest from the Greatest Generation. Jan "Dutchie" de Vries. Hard to believe that I just saw him last week still attending unit functions. His story will live on - We will remember him.

I saw him less than two weeks ago at a luncheon where he'd seemed alot weaker than when I'd last seen him about two years earlier, but didn't expect to that he'd be gone so soon.

He's an inspiration for us all and will be dearly missed.

I was saddened to hear this. My father, and one of my wifes uncles both served with him.
